I'm Tomás, a beekeeper from the Algarve.

I have been dedicating my time to the wellbeing of bees and the exploration of the products from the beehive.

Our products are 100% pure and natural, using only natural methods of extraction and production.

We strongly refuse to use any type of additives or mixtures to increase the quantity produced of a product that we insist is natural.

Beekeeping is as much a science as it is an art.

It’s a complex activity which is made up of experience and observation. We learn from beekeeping masters and we also experiment and improvise daily.

Our honey, in addition to being local to the Algarve and Alentejo regions, is raw and natural, containing all the therapeutic properties of a healthy and balanced product.

We have every care in the extraction that is done in a honey factory with the HACCP certificate of hygiene and safety.

After growing up in Belgium, and studying in the UK, I decided a change of life and moved to the Algarve in the South of Portugal, where my family is from. I did a masters in Sustainable Management of Rural Spaces, specialising in hortofruticulture, at the University of Algarve. There I presented my theses on the importance of pollination on raspberry crops by Apis mellifera (European honeybee).

Here, my work with bees began.

Our main objective at ApiculturAlgarve is to contribute to the proliferation of the bee, which is so important in our food chain.

In addition, the valorisation of hive products is essential for the continuation of our beekeeping activity.

Our beehives are located throughout the Serra Algarvia and Lower Alentejo region.
